 POST SHOW REPORT

LabAsia 2009 worked out successfully as the gateway to South East Asia as 119 exhibitors from 27 countries, met and discussed business with 4,169 registered trade visitors from 33 countries on 11 to 13 August 2009 at the Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

The 119 exhibitors had demonstrated their latest technologies derived from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom and USA.

These encouraging figures marked that best result ever reached in the show’s history and reaffirmed Lab Asia 2009 as the premier business-to-business laboratory and analytical event in South East Asia bringing all sectors of the laboratory and analytical industry together in a single venue.

Held under the auspices of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Malaysia, Yang Berhormat Datuk Dr Maximus Johnity Ongkili, and organised by the Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM) and managed by ECMI Trade Fairs SEA Sdn Bhd, in cooperation with Asianalysis X, SKAM 22 and QSEL 4 conference was a resounding success.

EVALUATION OF THE VISITOR STATISTICS OF LAB ASIA 2009

All 4,169 visitors from 33 countries were required to register and fill in questionnaire. The following data is based on this survey and conducted by the organizers.

INSIGHTFUL SEMINARS

Besides providing the premier sourcing platform to visitors, Lab Asia 2009 strives to provide an integrated educational opportunity for industry professionals. Over 426 industry visitors attended the informative and educational seminars, which covered topical issues and latest technologies about the laboratory and analytical industry.


 
Over 87% of interviewed seminar attendees were satisfied with the seminar topics.

MARKETING CAMPAIGNS

In order to maximize visitor presence at the show, an intensive and targeted marketing activity were undertaken to attract high-quality audience of laboratory and analytical industry professionals to Lab Asia 2009.

Direct Mail

Approximately 15,000 trade invitations were distributed to industry professionals using Lab Asia global database, including past visitors, interested visitors, association members and governments representatives. These were released to the industry continuous for 3 months prior to the exhibition; a further 10,000 were sent to exhibitors for distribution to their customers.

Email Marketing

Over 18,543 qualified contacts were email blasted by means of general newsletter, pre-registration reminders, events and seminar updates and conference enrolment.

E-Invitation

A customized e-invitation was available for all exhibitors to invite their customers to visit the show.

Advertising & Editorial Support

A global advertising campaign was carried out throughout the year. The campaign incorporated a combination of trade magazine, online, newspaper and outdoor advertising.

Advertisements were placed in the The Star and News Straits Times thrice a week before the start of the exhibition.

Outdoor Advertising

Street banner and billboard were placed towards to Putra World Trade Centre and Jalan Tun Razak.

Media Support

Lab Asia 2009 was promoted throughout the year with the ongoing support from international trade media. Editorial coverage of Lab Asia 2009 was secured in all major industry trade journals.

Exhibition

Has been promoting Lab Asia 2009 to various laboratory, analytical and scientific exhibition around the world and to name a few, there are Singapore, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates and China.

MILLION DOLLAR DEAL SIGNED IN LABASIA

It was a day for celebration for our exhibitor Redhacare Biolabs Sdn Bhd as they signed a million dollar deal with Biomove Pte Ltd of Thailand in LabAsia 2009.

The event occurs at the VIP lounge as two parties join hands in embarking an International partnership. The agreement covers the distribution of Biosafety Laboratory Level P2 and P3 including certification to WHO or Australian standard by Redhacare Biolabs Sdn Bhd in Malaysia.  Biomove Pte Ltd of Thailand, together with Redhacare Biolabs Sdn Bhd, will perform the design, fabrication, delivery, testing and commissioning of Onsite, Modular and Mobile Biosafety Laboratory Level P2 and P3.

The Agreement was signed by Mr. Syed Redzuan Syed Salim Shatri, MD of Redhacare Biolabs Sdn Bhd. and Mr. Georg Gotterman, MD of Biomove Pte Ltd of Thailand.  The exact financial value of the deal was not disclosed.

ARRIVAL OF GROUP VISITORS IN LABASIA

Visitors from local government bodies and institutions did not miss the chance in furthering their research in enhancing themselves with the latest technology. By visiting LabAsia 2009 they had the first hand in knowing the latest and precise equipment for their research and development, not to mention comparing the value and services provided from the exhibitors.
