Solvay Builds New Hydrogen Peroxide Plant in Saudi Arabia
Solvay and Saudi Aramco plan to builds new hydrogen peroxide plant in Jubail Industrial City, Saudi Arabia Kingdom. The hydrogen peroxide plant will be in commercial operation in second half of 2015.
Hydrogen peroxide from this plant is intended to supply propylene oxide (PO) plant. Propylene oxide is used for the manufacture of propylene glycol, polyurethane and glycol ethers. The new hydrogen peroxide plant will become the third plant for Solvay. Currently, Solvay is operating two hydrogen peroxide plants. A plant is in Antwerp, Belgium with production capacity of 230.000 ton per year and one in Thailand, with production capacity of 330.000 ton per year, which is under commissioning test. (reuters.com)
